National BJJ Championship 2027 in France: Dates, Venues and Every Division

Five CFJJB national titles in 2027, spread between Grenoble, Antibes and Paris from January to June, including a brand-new National Masters Championship. The guide to the dates, division by division, with what you need to prepare.

The CFJJB schedules the National BJJ Championship 2027 in GI, organised with the FSASPTT, for Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June 2027 in Paris, for the Adult and Master divisions. It is the flagship competition of the French season, and above all the one the French national team selection is based on. However, the federation awards its national titles in several stages: Novices in January, Masters in February, No-Gi and Kids in April, GI in June. This page therefore gathers the five events, and we update it with every confirmation.

In shortFive titles, three cities, six months. The June National GI carries the most weight; the other four each crown a specific group.

The National GI Championship: 12-13 June 2027 in Paris

The National GI closes the season, as in 2026, when it took place on 13-14 June in Paris. For a while, the federation had scheduled it on a single day for 2027. However, the October calendar puts it back on two days, Saturday and Sunday, a sign of a line-up expected to be at least as full. The Adult and Master divisions compete by belt and weight, in GI only. It is the compulsory stop to join the CFJJB national team. Besides, the two stages to get noticed beforehand are the Nova GP on 6 February and the French Open on 3-4 April in Marseille.

What a national title opens

A national GI title first weighs in the selection: the federation builds its team for the big international championships from these results. Then it counts in the black belt ranking, which pays out bonuses at the end of the season. Finally, it remains the most readable line on a record for a club, a sponsor or an academy. In other words, even without aiming at the national team, a national podium changes a competitor’s season. To measure the climb, our article on BJJ in France by the numbers recalls the size of the pack: more than 36,000 members.

No-Gi and Kids: the same April weekend in Paris

On 10-11 April 2027, Paris hosts two national titles at once. On one hand, the National No-Gi Championship crowns Adults and Masters without the gi. And, on the other hand, the National Kids Championship gathers the youngsters, in GI and No-Gi. The federation now lists both events as confirmed. For kids, a regional Open during autumn or winter remains the best preparation. If you are hesitating, our article on BJJ for kids helps decide whether competition is a good idea at their age.

Novices in Grenoble, Masters in Antibes: two titles of their own

The National Novices Championship, on 30-31 January 2027 in Grenoble, is for white belts. It thus offers a national title from the first year of practice, in a competitive but friendly atmosphere. The 2027 novelty is the National Masters Championship, on 27-28 February in Antibes, in GI and No-Gi. Until now, the over-30s fought for their titles in the Master divisions of the general championships. From now on, they get a dedicated event, on the Côte d’Azur, one month after the Novices. Both dates are still to be confirmed.

Who can aim at what

  • White belt: Novices in Grenoble (January), then any Open.
  • Over 30: Masters in Antibes (February), plus the Master divisions of the National GI and National No-Gi.
  • Kids: National Kids in Paris (April), after a regional Open.
  • No-Gi: National No-Gi in Paris (April).
  • National team: National GI in Paris (June), preceded by the Nova GP and the French Open.

Registering and preparing

Registration opens on cfjjb.com a few weeks before the event, with an early-bird rate then a full rate, and closes around ten days before. Moreover, national championships have their own fee grid, published on their page. Before the day, our BJJ competition guide details the weigh-in, the draw and the flow of a competition day. Then the point scoring quiz checks you know what earns 2, 3 or 4 points. Finally, the whole season, Opens included, is in our calendar of BJJ competitions in France.
