BJJ Competitions in France 2026-2027: The Calendar [October Update]

Two UFC BJJ cards in a fortnight, a brand-new National Masters Championship and a French Open sliding from November to April: the CFJJB has reshuffled its season. Here is the calendar of BJJ competitions in France, updated on 12 October 2026.

Looking for a BJJ competition in France this autumn or next spring? The CFJJB season opened in Paris on 3 October, and the federation has reworked its calendar since our last update: the French Open in Marseille moves to April, a National Masters Championship joins the schedule in Antibes at the end of February, and the National GI Championship returns to two days in June. This calendar gathers every confirmed date, sorted by federation and period, with the status shown by each organiser. We update it every month.

CFJJB calendar 2026-2027: every date

FederationTwenty-six dates from October to June, filterable by region and format. CFJJB licence required for all of them, except the Paris Fall Open IBJJF.

The Confédération Française de Jiu-Jitsu Brésilien (CFJJB) remains the backbone of BJJ competition in France, with 540 affiliated clubs and more than 36,000 members in 2025-2026. Its 2026-2027 season runs from October to June: regional Opens all autumn and winter, then the national events from March onwards, organised with the FSASPTT. Almost every Open offers Adult, Master and Kids divisions, in GI and No-Gi; exceptions are flagged in the Formats column.

Three lessons from this reshuffled calendar

Three lessons stand out from this reshuffled calendar. First, the French Open changes season again: announced for November in our previous update, it is now scheduled for 3-4 April 2027 in Marseille, opening the block of national championships. The first major national event of the season is therefore the Nova GP, the federation’s premium event, back in Paris on 6 February 2027 in adult GI. Second, the CFJJB creates a National Masters Championship, 27-28 February 2027 in Antibes, GI and No-Gi: the over-30s finally get a national title of their own, on top of the French Cup in Verquin, once again paired with the Festival du JJB on 20-21 March.

Finally, spring concentrates the titles: Novices in Grenoble at the end of January, No-Gi and Kids in Paris on the same April weekend, then the National GI Championship on 12-13 June 2027, back to two days as in 2026.

For the record, the 2025-2026 season ended with the National GI Championship on 13-14 June in Paris, after a run of Opens from Saint-Denis to Saint-Raphaël via Grenoble, Marseille, Orléans, Biganos and Nice. The Île-de-France Regional Open on 3-4 October opened the 2026-2027 season; results are on cfjjb.com.

Outside the federationNo licence, open to all: Grappling Industries in Dugny on 8 November, NAGA in Germany, GNC still waiting for dates.

Beyond the CFJJB, several organisers run competitions in France with no federal licence required: Grappling Industries, NAGA and Gi Nogi Challenge (GNC). Formats vary and welcome every level, with dates published as they come rather than as a season calendar. One date has dropped since our last update: Grappling Industries returns to the Paris area on Sunday 8 November 2026.

Round robin, NAGA, GNC: what to know

For a beginner, Grappling Industries remains an excellent entry point: round-robin format (no single elimination), so four to six guaranteed matches per division even after a first-round loss, and one registration covers one GI and one No-Gi division. It is the best way to cut your teeth without the pressure of “one match and out”. NAGA has no French date announced for now; its nearest European stop is in Germany in mid-November. GNC had not published its autumn dates (Paris tournament, Queens Tournament, Next Generation) at the time of this update: watch their socials, we will add them here as soon as they are announced.

The international calendar 2026-2027

InternationalADCC done, No-Gi Worlds in December in Las Vegas, IBJJF Europeans in Lisbon in January: the events outside France that matter to the French.

These competitions are not held in France but matter directly to the French community, whether for the national team athletes who compete there or for fans following the circuit. ADCC Kraków and UFC BJJ 11 and 12 are done; next come the no-gi season finale in Las Vegas, then the 2027 Europeans, which change address.

ADCC 2026: what to remember from Kraków

ADCC Kraków kept its promises, and history was written twice. First Felipe Pena, beaten in his weight-class semi-final, got back up to win the absolute by submitting Roosevelt Sousa: he becomes the first athlete to win the ADCC absolute twice. Then Helena Crevar, 19, became the youngest champion in the tournament’s history. IBJJF Europeans 2027: Paris hands over to Lisbon

This is the IBJJF news of the autumn: after four Paris editions, from 2023 to 2026, the IBJJF European Championship returns to Portugal. The 2027 edition runs from 13 to 23 January at the Pavilhão Multiusos in Odivelas, in the suburbs of Lisbon, where the Europeans were held before the Rome-Paris era. Registration is open on ibjjf.com and the first price tier has passed: expect $173 until 15 November, then $186 until the 3 January 2027 deadline. The adult black belt division still requires 40 IBJJF ranking points, and spectators get in free. Paris Fall Open and No-Gi Worlds: two dates before the Europeans

Before that, two IBJJF dates. The Paris Fall Open on 28-29 November, at the Salle Charpy of Stade Charléty, remains the chance to taste an international tournament without leaving France: Juvenile, Adult and Master divisions in GI and No-Gi, registration until 20 November ($138 until 30 October, $167 after). Then the IBJJF No-Gi Worlds close the competitive year from 10 to 12 December 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, registration until 29 November.

UFC BJJ 11 and 12: what to remember

The UFC has pushed hard on grappling in 2026, with a UFC BJJ event roughly every month at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, and two cards have come and gone since our last update. On 24 September, UFC BJJ 11 delivered: Mikey Musumeci dominated UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell by unanimous decision in a 145 lb exhibition match contested without leg attacks, and Mason Fowler kept his light heavyweight title through a split-decision draw with Nick Rodriguez.

On the French side, Aurélie Le Vern beat Rana Willink by unanimous decision. Two weeks later, UFC BJJ 12 made history: Cassia Moura, already bantamweight champion, took the inaugural flyweight title from Adele Fornarino to become the promotion’s first two-division champion, Renato Canuto claimed the vacant lightweight belt against Ethan Crelinsten, and former UFC title challenger Gilbert Burns was submitted in the first round by Gabriel Almeida with a heel hook.

What is next on the UFC BJJ calendar

More is coming: UFC BJJ 13 on 29 October, card still to be announced, then UFC BJJ 14 on 3 December. Streamed on UFC Fight Pass from 8 pm ET, which is 2 am in France. The promotion has also launched the UFC BJJ Opens, a series of tournaments open to every level, with the ambition of building a pathway from local tournament to UFC BJJ card. Licence, fees and deadlines

For CFJJB events, registration is done directly on cfjjb.com, from each competition’s page. You need to be a member of an affiliated club with a valid licence for the current season (€41 for 2025-2026; check the 2026-2027 fee with your club). Mind the deadlines: the early-bird rate ends about three weeks before the event, registration closes around ten days before, and the federation may close earlier if capacity is reached, which happens at the big events.

Outside the federation and first competition

For Grappling Industries, NAGA and GNC competitions, registration is on each organiser’s site, with no federal licence. What is the next CFJJB competition?

The next CFJJB event is the Antibes Open, 17-18 October 2026 at the Azur Aréna, followed the next weekend by the Indian Ocean Open (24 October, Saint-Denis, Réunion Island) and the Hauts-de-France Open (25 October, Verquin), then the Toulouse Open on 7-8 November. All these dates are confirmed by the federation.

When is the 2027 National BJJ Championship?

The CFJJB National GI Championship is scheduled for 12-13 June 2027 in Paris, pending final confirmation by the federation. The National No-Gi and Kids Championships are set for 10-11 April 2027, also in Paris, the Novices Championship for 30-31 January 2027 in Grenoble and the new Masters Championship for 27-28 February 2027 in Antibes.

When is the 2027 French BJJ Open?

Scheduled for 3-4 April 2027 in Marseille, the CFJJB French Open offers GI, No-Gi and Kids divisions, with a to-be-confirmed status. Initially, the federation had announced it for November 2026 before moving it to spring.

Do you need a licence to compete in France?

For CFJJB events (Opens, French Cup, national championships, Nova GP), yes: a valid CFJJB licence and membership of an affiliated club are required. Grappling Industries, NAGA and GNC competitions require no federal licence and are open to everyone.

What is the best first competition for a beginner?

Either a CFJJB regional Open near you (belt and weight divisions, family atmosphere) or a Grappling Industries round-robin competition, which guarantees several matches: the next one is on 8 November 2026 in Dugny, near Paris.
