Episode 4 of Road to the Title UFC BJJ 2 takes us into the final stretch before fight night. We’re heading to the UFC Performance Institute for Andrew Tackett’s last training session — topped off with a face-off that screams war. It’s almost time.

Final session at the UFC Performance Institute

From the very first seconds, Andrew Tackett sets the tone with a demo of cage control:
“I’m just driving up, trying to get the top position and smothering control.”
He runs through drills in a class led by Aljamain Sterling, former UFC bantamweight champ, now competing at featherweight. The session focuses on wall wrestling, defensive reactions and transitions — sometimes with MMA gloves.
“He runs a class where he trains with guys he trusts, while also teaching us valuable stuff. It’s a good class.”
And then surprise: William Tackett, Andrew’s brother, is there too. Body locks, transitions, positional control… The Tackett family breathes pure grappling — cage-style.
The Tackett brothers: a top-tier duo
A rare moment: Andrew and William training side by side. William explains:
“We’re starting from the body lock against the wall, alternating top and bottom, looking to secure dominant position — maybe land some strikes too.”
Just like the Mendes or Ruotolo brothers, intensity runs in the family. But with the Tacketts, it comes with a side of humor.

Pre-fight atmosphere: calm but locked in
The fighters in red rashguards (including Fowler, whom we’re eager to see in action) are hanging out, laughing. Andrew heads off for promo shots. Then the Tackett brothers visit the venue… still under construction.
They joke around while checking out the welding work:
“Look, they had to grind down the welds because they messed it up. Amateurs!”
A quiet moment. The arena is bare, the frame still exposed. But the brothers are calm — and William makes it clear:
“We’re done with training. Now it’s just rest until the fight.”
Andrew is already focused on the next step:
“The most exciting part is getting through the weight cut tomorrow… so I can eat all the pasta.”
Bonus for French fans: Aurélie Le Vern appears briefly — she’ll be on the UFC BJJ 2 undercard! (It’s honestly a shame we haven’t seen more promo content for the other fighters.)
Will Aurélie bring home the first French win at UFC BJJ? She’s up against the American Maggie Grindatti!
The weight cut: final hurdle before battle
Andrew’s already thinking about it: “The most exciting thing is getting to the weight cut tomorrow so I can eat all the pasta after.” That line says it all — even at this level, weight management remains a physical and mental grind.
Training’s over. Now it’s all about recovery and staying sharp.
Face-off: Tackett vs Canuto, the masks drop
Then comes the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Andrew Tackett vs Renato Canuto. No trash talk, just tension and respect.

Andrew throws the first jab — respectfully: “You won’t need that polish tomorrow, I’m keeping the belt.”
Renato fires back with focus: “This will be a life-changing moment for me. I’ve gotta do what I’ve gotta do and take that belt home.”
Andrew closes: “You can’t break him mentally, he’s really good. But I believe in my skills — I know I’m going to finish him.”
Aljamain Sterling approves the level
And Aljamain Sterling drops the verdict: “It’s going to be tough. These two are legit. I’ve trained with both — they’re ninjas in their own styles. No matter who wins, BJJ fans will win that night.”

Coming from a former UFC champ, this endorsement confirms it: UFC BJJ really is attracting top-tier talent.
Verdict: the tension rises, and so does the quality
Episode 4 of UFC BJJ 2 nails it better than the previous ones: we’re right at the edge of fight night, and the energy is perfect. Less technique, more psychology and atmosphere.
We’re leaving this one convinced: this fight is going to be insane. Andrew is confident but composed. Renato is hungry and laser-focused. A perfect stylistic clash.
Only regret? Still no spotlight on the other fighters. This series is very Tackett–Canuto-centric… but it does that part well.
👉 Fight night is here! We’ll be following it all on bjj-rules.com.
