Main Event: Bantamweight — Mikey Musumeci defends via Mikey Lock (R1)
The reigning champion and five-time IBJJF world champion Mikey Musumeci finished surging contender Keven Carrasco in 3:01 of Round 1 with his now-signature modified heel hook: the Mikey Lock.
From the opening engagement, Musumeci hunted the leg, entered after a few scrambles, and clamped the foot/neck configuration that forced an instant verbal tap from Carrasco.

“I dedicate this one to Tylenol!” joked Musumeci, before thanking God and teammates Jalen Fonacier and Kennedy Maciel. For what’s next, he floated a matchup with João Miyao.
In the days that followed, UFC BJJ admitted it’s “hard” to find opponents for Musumeci. He’s one of the best on the planet — but bringing in more elite names would make the product even stronger. A clash with João Miyao, as Mikey suggested, would immediately raise the stakes for the belts.
For the record, Mikey also beat him back in 2017… in the gi!
Co-Main Event: Lightweight — Carlos Henrique retains by decision (29–28 x3)
Carlos Henrique turned back three-time gi world champion Matheus Gabriel after three tight rounds. The champ masterfully exploited the Bowl’s slope to disrupt Gabriel’s guard entries while keeping pressure and initiative.
Gabriel created openings (including a slick kiss of the dragon), but Henrique controlled the key moments and took a clean 29–28 unanimous decision.

“Before I walked into the Bowl I looked at my daughter Daniela’s photo and I cried. She and my wife give me all my motivation.”
On the mic, the champ called out Samuel Nagai for his next defense and confirmed his amateur MMA debut is coming soon in Texas.

Other standout performances from UFC BJJ 3
Jalen Fonacier — Serial finisher (20)
Two Bowl appearances, two heel hooks in under 90 seconds. He’s lobbying to open a dedicated Flyweight (125 lbs) division to compete at his natural weight.

Ana Mayordomo — Perfect debut
Relentless pressure, clean transitions, and a tidy armbar for the first Spaniard to win in UFC BJJ.
Andy Varela — Vegas showtime
Physicality, mind games, then a clinical rear naked choke. A triumphant homecoming for the Vegas bad boy.

Andy Murasaki — Total control
Smash passing, crucifix, then a Round 3 kimura. He respectfully called out Varela for an “Andy vs Andy.”
Jansen Gomes — Takedown of the year
A run-up along the Bowl wall into a center slam: “the best takedown we’ve seen in UFC BJJ”, per the commentary desk.

Samuel Nagai — Little Samurai, big impact
Threatening guillotines, scramble wins, and a solid victory over Kennedy Maciel. He’s already on the shortlist for Carlos Henrique.
What the Bowl teaches (and changes)
- Leg locks everywhere: at top no-gi level, bouts often hinge on knee-line control and clean entries (50/50, ashi variations).
- The Bowl as a weapon: the slope reduces opponent mobility, breaks angles, and “assists” takedowns. Henrique and Gomes used it brilliantly.
- Wrestling sets the tempo: Varela, Henrique & co. showed that top pressure controls rounds in the 10-point must format.
- Three passing schools: smash (Murasaki), speed (Gomes, Moura), distance management (Henrique).
